The United Nations has reported that over half of Yemeni households are not getting enough food due to severe economic conditions and a months-long halt in food assistance to millions in the north of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Monday, the World Food Program (WFP) highlighted that \u201csevere food deprivation\u201d has reached unprecedented levels in parts of northern Yemen, including Al Jawf, Al Bayda, Hajjah, Amran, and Al Hodeidah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The WFP had to stop food assistance in these areas in December due to funding limitations and disagreements with authorities over the program’s scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yemen’s civil war, ongoing since 2014, has ravaged the country’s economy, disrupting exports and devaluing the local currency, with a Saudi-led coalition intervening in 2015, aiming to reinstate the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
