A total of 200,100 individuals from 157 different nationalities were granted German citizenship, marking a 19 percent increase from the previous year and the highest number since 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nationals from Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Romania, and Afghanistan made up 56 percent of those acquiring citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
