The newspaper explained that “a large number of mourners performed the sacred ritual of self-flagellation and Tatbir in sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the successor of the Messenger of Allah, Imam Ali, peace be upon him.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, the newspaper noted that “the routes were highly secured by police forces to protect mourners from potential terrorist threats, while mourners appreciated the high level of care and concern shown by local authorities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
