Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze hosted an iftar dinner Thursday in the capital Tbilisi in observance of the holy month of Ramadan, Anadolu Agency reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by Muslim diplomats and politicians as well as officials from the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia, the news agency cited a statement by the Georgian Prime Ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the event, Kobakhidze said the Muslims living in the country have made significant contributions to the development and progress of Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The Muslim community, which is an integral part of us, has made great contributions to the development of our country, and there is a deep-rooted history behind our brotherhood,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kobakhidze stressed that its government will continue to support the Muslim community in Georgia, adding that: “The state has handed over 237 mosques to the Muslim community, and 20 more mosques are expected to be handed over.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
