The U.N. World Water Development Report, released in anticipation of World Water Day revealed that over the past two decades leading up to 2021, droughts have impacted over 1.4 billion people globally, resulting in nearly 21,000 fatalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A report from the Washington-based World Resources Institute in August also singled out Iran as one of the 25 nations struggling with exceptionally high water stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
