At least 30 people have been killed in renewed violence in Nigeria\u2019s central Plateau State, where clashes between Muslim herders and Christian farming communities have erupted for years, Al-Jazeera reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to community leaders, despite a 24-hour curfew imposed on Tuesday in Plateau\u2019s Mangu local district, schools, places of worship, and homes have been burned and ransacked in more attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elsewhere, around 20 civilians were killed in an attack in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo on Thursday, the army and M23 rebels said, accusing each other of launching the assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deaths were the latest fallout from fighting between Congolese troops and M23, whose offensives have forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes and worsened the region’s decades-long security and humanitarian crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
