On the occasion of the International Day for Living Together in Peace, Salam Organization for Democracy and Human Rights said that the Shias in Bahrain are living an unjust reality that must end.

The deputy head of the organization, Yousef, said in his tweets, that the principle of living together is achieved through tolerance for all components of society and not by persecuting and denying a group, indicating that Shias in Bahrain are subjected to sectarian discrimination and they are prohibited from practicing their religious freedom.

He added, “A Shia Bahraini citizen is also subject to discrimination in obtaining a government job, especially in the sovereign ministries, official and semi-official newspapers,” pointing out that these governmental practices must stop.
