At least eight people were killed and injured in the police ranks and Afghan army personnel in separate attacks in three different provinces.

Afghan news agency (Khama Press) said, “A civilian and an army soldier were killed in an attack by Taliban terrorist militants in the Shahar Polak area.”

On the other hand, an official at the Helmand Police Command in the south of the country said that unknown gunmen killed a policeman and wounded another in an attack in the Polan region.

In the same context, the brother of Shoresh, a spokesman for the Kapisa Police Command in eastern Afghanistan, said that a roadside bomb had killed two policemen and wounded another in the region.

The latest attacks come amid continued efforts to end the ongoing violence in Afghanistan.

There are fears that continued violence in certain parts of the country will lead to the peace process, as Taliban militants have sporadic attacks in remote parts of Afghanistan.
