Six Pakistanis killed and injured by Indian forces in Kashmir

A senior police officer in Kashmir, Chaudhry Dhul Qarnain, said that Indian forces fired bullets and mortar shells, on Saturday evening, towards the village of Chavar Kakota and the surrounding areas in the Cherikut sector in the Pakistani part of the disputed Kashmir region.

He added that the shelling destroyed a house, killed a civilian and wounded 5 others.

The Pakistani army, in a statement, described the Indian bombing as “an unjustified violation” of the 2003 ceasefire agreement between New Delhi and Islamabad.

He added, that the Pakistani forces had responded “effectively” to the Indian assault.

There was no immediate comment from the Indian side on the Pakistani statement.
