In a press briefing, General Yuri Borenkov, head of the center of the Russian Ministry of Defense, based in the Hmeimim Air Force Base in Russia, explained that about 200 militants participated in the attack, riding in 30 pick-up trucks equipped with large-caliber machine guns.
He pointed out that the army forces countered the attack and forced the militants to retreat to their previous positions.
The official stated that the Russian military monitored 31 bombings by armed factions during the past 24 hours, pointing out that the Syrian government forces stopped the hostilities in Idlib and warplanes were not used in this area.
