Saudi Arabia targets civilians with double strikes in Yemen

Saudi Arabia and its allies have carried out double airstrikes in Yemen to kill as many unarmed civilians as possible, researchers at the Bellingkat Investigative Journalism website reported on Monday.

Saudi Arabia and its allies have carried out double airstrikes in Yemen to kill as many unarmed civilians as possible, researchers at the Bellingkat Investigative Journalism website reported on Monday.

This tactic is as follows: Saudi Arabia fires rockets on a town and then fires again when aid workers rush to rescue the injured, which significantly increases the number of civilian deaths and puts the rescuers at risk, according to the British Newspaper the Independent.

The researchers reported after finding evidence that civilian targets in Yemen had been subjected to double airstrikes and examined open-source photos and videos of attacks by the Saudi-led coalition.

The report, which will be published on Monday, comes at a time when the British government is preparing to appeal the Court of Appeal ruling that forced it to freeze arms sales to Saudi Arabia, while reconsidering the possibility of using them to violate international humanitarian law.
