Muslims fired over prayer at work dispute

Nearly 200 Muslim workers were fired from a meat-packing plant

Nearly 200 Muslim workers were fired from a meat-packing plant in Colorado over a prayer dispute.

Last week, 11 of Cargill Meat Solutions’ workers wanted to pray all at one time but the company refused to give them a short break to pray.

The workers left and prayed anyway. After that, 190 employees stopped working in protest. The company warned them they would be fired if they failed to show up to work for a third day.

Muslim groups in the United States said the workers were discriminated against.
