Delegation of international organizations visits Misbah al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development in Karbala

A delegation representing several international organizations, including the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), UNHCR, the High Commissioner for Refugees, and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, visited the headquarters of Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development in Karbala.

The delegation met with the President of the Foundation, Sheikh Mustafa al-Muhammadi, and a number of its members, and reviewed the various projects of the Foundation from its establishment until today.

The attendees discussed the health and social conditions of the Iraqi society in general and the crises that have afflicted it recently, foremost of which is the Coronavirus crisis and the economic and social crises that followed.

Sheikh al-Muhammadi explained about the foundation and its humanitarian activities, which extend to several Iraqi provinces from the north to the south, and its mechanism of work, which is based on the principle of humanity away from religious or tribal affiliation or racial discrimination.

Al-Muhammadi also touched on the Foundation’s intention to devise a strategic plan to eradicate poverty of Iraq’s orphans.

The delegation expressed their willingness to provide various means of cooperation to make the project successful.
