The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, and the Director of His Eminence’s Office in India, Sayyed Saif Abbas Al-Naqawi, held a seminar in the Husseiniya of Janat Ma’ab in the city of Lucknow, in the presence of a group of different religious, social and cultural personalities.

The symposium discussed the concerns of citizens and Muslims in India, and the reform article in the Citizenship Act in India.

It is reported that last week a law in India was passed, granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to minorities namely Hindus, Buddhism, Jain, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, and Sikhs.

The aforementioned law is concerned with immigrants who entered India before the year 2015, and no legal reform has been taken for the rights of citizens in India such as those mentioned for Muslims in the country, which caused widespread objections.

It is noteworthy that the symposium witnessed complete coverage by many Indian media platforms and newspapers.
