On this day, the 20th of Rabi al-Thani 1337 AH, Imam Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Al-Shirazi, may Allah bless his soul, issued a verdict that shook the pillars of the unjust British colonialism.

His verdict, or Fatwa read, “No Muslim can elect a non-Muslim to rule over Muslims.” This was the first spiritual bullet that was launched to signal jihad and call for revolution, which caused a national tremor in the hearts of Iraqis, and after the unjust British colonization of its practices against humanity, Imam Shirazi issued his second historical Fatwa, in which he stated, “The demand of rights is obligatory for the Iraqis, and they must, within their demand to care for peace and security, and they may plead with the defense force if the British army refrains from accepting their demands.”

The Muslims revolted in the outskirts of Iraq with a massive revolution, and they defended the country’s sanctities.
