Grand Ayatollah Sayed Shirazi postpone delivering higher stage of jurisprudential lessons after Mina tragedy

His Eminence expressed condolences over the deaths of hundreds of pilgrims

Following the tragic stampede in Mina, near the holy city of Makkah, the Eminent Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq Husseini Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, has postponed delivering higher stage of jurisprudential lessons today.

His Eminence expressed condolences over the deaths of hundreds of pilgrims in Thursday’s stampede in Mina.

Some 2000 pilgrims died and many more injured in the stampede on Thursday in the worst disaster to strike the annual Hajj pilgrimage in a quarter century.
The tragedy happened when a large crowd of pilgrims were on their way to participate in one of the last Hajj rituals.
The disaster has raised questions over the Saudi regime’s ability to manage the large influx of pilgrims into the kingdom during the Hajj pilgrimage season every year.
