Afghan forces kill 9 ISIS-K militants in Kunar, Nangarhar provinces

The Afghan have killed at least nine militants affiliated with the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISIS-K)during the separate operations conducted in eastern Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.

 

The Afghan have killed at least nine militants affiliated with the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISIS-K)during the separate operations conducted in eastern Kunar and Nangarhar provinces.

The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East issued a statement on Monday, stating that at least four ISIS-K militants were killed in a drone strike carried out by the U.S. forces in Haska Mina district of Nangarhar province on Sunday.

The statement further added that the Afghan Intelligence forces carried out operations with the U.S. air support in Pech Dara of Kunar province, leaving at least 5 ISIS-K militants dead.

According to 201st Silab Corps, another ISIS-K militant was also wounded during the same operations.

Nangarhar is among the relatively calm provinces in East of Afghanistan but ISIS-K and Taliban militants are active in some of its remote districts.

However, Kunar is among the volatile provinces in the East where the Taliban, ISIS-K, and other militants are active in a number of its districts and often carry out terrorist related activities.
