Free Muslim calls on Security Council to lift Saudi siege on Yemeni people

Non-Violence International Organization, Free Muslim, called on the UN Security Council to hold its legal and moral responsibilities to lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

 

Non-Violence International Organization, Free Muslim, called on the UN Security Council to hold its legal and moral responsibilities to lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people.

In a statement received by the Shiawaves, the organization said “it has received data from various international bodies and various human rights organizations that more than eight million Yemeni civilians are on the verge of starvation if the blockade of the country, which has been at war for more than three years, is not lifted.”

The statement added that “The Saudi-led military coalition has imposed a blockade on Yemeni ports for months, exacerbating the suffering after the cutting off medicines and foodstuffs to large segments of the Yemeni people.”

The organization called on the UN Security Council to hold its legal and moral responsibilities to stop the ongoing war in Yemen, stressing at the same time on UN body to organize an urgent campaign food and medical aid to reduce the risk of the catastrophic situation of innocent civilians.
