Muharram begins with renewed pledge of allegiance to Imam Hussein

Mourning month of Muharram began across Pakistan Yesterday on September 12 while mourners are preparing to observe the month with religious spirit and respect and in particular with renewed vow to continuous allegiance to the infallible leader of Islam and humanity Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, the grandson of Prophet of Islam and Humanity.

Ashura Day in Pakistan will be observed on Friday, September 21.

Muharram is the sacred month in which lovers of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them,  commemorate the epoch-making sacrifices of martyrs of Karbala. Mourning congregations and processions are held to pay homage to the Imam Hussein-led martyrs of Karbala.
