Quran competition course held for Iraqi women

A course for women on refereeing Quran competitions was recently held in Iraq.

 

 

A course for women on refereeing Quran competitions was recently held in Iraq.

Rafei al-Ameri, director of the National Quranic Sciences Center affiliated to Iraq’s Shia Awqaf Department, told media that the course concluded in a ceremony on Thursday.

He said those taking the course received lessons on the principles of Tajweed, Waqf and Ibtida based on internationally recognized regulations.

He added that those who successfully passed the course’s exam were given certificates of attendance.

The ceremony also included Quran recitation by a prominent Qariyah (woman Quran reciter) and eulogy recitation in praise of the Ahl-ul-Bayt, peace be upon them, by Hajj Ali Abdul Sattar on the occasion of birthday anniversary of Imam al-Redha, peace be upon him.

Al-Ameri underlined the importance of such courses in enhancing the Quranic skills of women Quran experts and acquainting them with refereeing regulations.
