Fifteen school girls poisoned in Helmand

Fifteen school girls were poisoned in Lashkargah city of Helmand province on Monday, local officials said. 

 

Fifteen school girls were poisoned in Lashkargah city of Helmand province on Monday, local officials said. 

According to the officials the girls are students at a local girls high school in the center of Lashkargah city. 

 The incident happened Monday morning when the girls were busy in class. All the girls are in 10th grade. 

 Daoud Shah Safari Helmand’s education director confirms the poisoning but said the motive is not clear. 

 The poisoned girls were discharged from hospital after receiving treatment and are now in good condition, provincial education department said. Investigations are under way, Safari added.
