Bahraini rights campaigners have voiced their concern over the reported torture of two death row inmates Ali Hakim Al-Arab and Ahmad Al-Mullali.

The two were sentenced to death last month over ‘terrorism’ related charges. They were convicted during a mass trial along with 58 other defendants.

According to activists, both men are being subjected to severe beatings and other forms of torture each night.

Al-Arab and Al-Mullali’s convictions brought the total number of Bahraini nationals on death row to 21.

At the start of 2017, executions resumed in Bahrain for the first time in seven years when three torture victims were killed by firing squad.
