Military sources announced on Friday that over 26 militants have been killed in different clashes with the Syrian army in Northern Damascus in the last 48 hours.

“The Syrian army troops’ anti-terrorism operations in Qalamoun region ended in the killing of 26 and wounding of 40 militants,” the sources said, adding, “The militant groups’ weapons and military equipment also sustained major damage.”

Reports said earlier today that Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces stormed the strongholds of Ajnad al-Sham in a key town in Western Damascus, pushing the militants back from more positions in the battlefield.

The Syrian government forces targeted the remaining farms under the control of Ajnad al-Sham in al-Alayeh district in Darayya, which inflicted major losses on the militants and forced them to retreat from the battlefront.

The Syrian missiles and artillery units shelled positions on the militant groups in the Northern sector of the al-Alayeh district.
