Bahraini Court Sentences 16 Defendants to 3-7 Years in Prison over Assembling in Sitra

The Bahraini High Criminal Court sentenced 11 defendants to seven years in prison and five others to three, over charges of assembling in Sitra.

 

 

The Bahraini High Criminal Court sentenced 11 defendants to seven years in prison and five others to three, over charges of assembling in Sitra.

The Public Prosecution claimed that in 2015, the defendants, along with other unknown suspects, attacked a policeman, took part in as assembly and acquired Molotov cocktails.

The authorities allege that the defendants planned to hold an assembly, riot and attack security service men. 

Two defendants allegedly distributed the Molotov cocktails among the other suspects and headed towards the site where the security forces were located, attacked them and fled the scene, said the authorities.
