“Ali is the Vicegerent of Allah” on school in Damam provokes ire in Saudi Arabia

General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia has launched an urgent investigation over a placard containing the pictures of King Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman and King Salam Bin Abdul Aziz, along with the phrase “Ali is the Vicegerent of Allah.”

The picture, which was taken by an amateur photographer, provoked ire among social media activists in Saudi Arabia.

Media spokesman of the General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province said the placard was immediately removed from the wall of the middle school in Damam and an urgent investigation was launched to find the perpetrators.
