Kuwait prepares security plan for Muharram

The plan is aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing offenders

 

Kuwait’s Interior Ministry has prepared a security plan for the month of Muharram which includes the deployment of security forces and police officers to help protect the performance of Husseini rituals.

 The plan is aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing offenders from creating unrest.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs held a meeting with Husseiniyaat owners and other managers to discuss the procedures that should be taken in order to protect mourners during the month of Muharram.

On June 26, at least 27 people lost their lives and 227 others sustained injuries when an explosion ripped through Imam Sadiq Mosque in al-Sawabir, a busy residential and shopping district of Kuwait.
