Bahrain’s once again took to the streets in solidarity with detained political activists
Bahrain’s once again took to the streets in solidarity with detained political activists. Protesters held an anti-regime rally in the Northwestern village of Diraz, located about 12 kilometers southeast of the capital, Manama, following the Friday prayers. Similar rallies were also held in the village of Bilad al-Qadim, a suburb of Manama and Sitra, south of the capital. Anti-government protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since mid-February 2011, calling for an end to the al-Khalifa dynasty. So far, tens of protesters have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and thousands of others have been injured.
