Saudi embassy sues Kuwaiti MP for slamming Yemen war

The embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kuwait has reportedly taken legal action against a Kuwaiti lawmaker that criticized the kingdom’s military aggression against neighboring Yemen.

The controversial measure was taken after Kuwaiti MP Abdulhameed Dashti censured the devastating Saudi military campaign across Yemen during an interview with a Lebanese TV channel.

The lawsuit by the Saudi embassy claims that Dashti’s criticism of its air strikes in Yemen insulted the kingdom, said the press reports, citing Saudi embassy authorities.

According to the reports, the legal measure by the Saudi regime is the second against the Shia Kuwaiti lawmaker. In the previous case, Dashti was accused of insulting the kingdom and the Saudi monarchy.

The development came as Saudi forces pressed ahead with their deadly air raids against Yemen’s industrial, civilian and military centers.
