Quranic festival held in Iraq

The 6th edition of “Sa’eed bin Jubair” international Quranic festival was held in Wasit province of Iraq with the participation of representatives from 16 Arab and Islamic countries.

 

The 6th edition of “Sa’eed bin Jubair” international Quranic festival was held in Wasit province of Iraq with the participation of representatives from 16 Arab and Islamic countries.

According to wasitnews.net, the Quran Activists Union of the province organized the festival, which started on March 6 and concluded today. It was sponsored by Wasit Provincial Government.

The holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, Union of Quranic Associations and Societies as well as the custodianship of “Sa’eed bin Jubair” holy shrine cooperated in holding the festival.

The opening ceremony of the international program was held at Jubair’s holy shrine in Al-Hay city of the province.

Different parts of the province hosted 50 Quranic sessions on the sidelines of the festival.

Sa’eed bin Jubair bin Hashem Al-Asadi, a devoted Shia and companion of Imam Sajjad (AS), memorizer, reciter and interpreter of Quran, was martyred in the year 95 A.H.
