Re-gilding the minarets of Imam Ali Holy Shrine reaches advanced stages

The technical and engineering cadres at Imam Ali Holy Shrine have reached advanced stages in re-gilding process of the minarets.

Member of the Holy Shrine’s Board of Directors Fatih al-Kirmani said in a statement to the Media Center, “The minarets are one of the most historical and archaeological monuments found at the holy shrine. We have reached advanced stages of the minarets renovation and re-gilding project.”

“The project includes polishing, maintaining and re-gilding the gold plated bricks without changing their sizes and materials in order to preserve their moral and archaeological value,” he added.

Eng. Falah al-Sarraf pointed out that the completion rate in the southern minaret exceeded 70%.
