The event of Ghadir, or Eid al-Ghadir, is celebrated by Shia Muslims around the world every year.

It is among important feasts and happy holidays of Shia Muslims held on the 18th day of Dhu l-Hijja in the lunar Hijri calendar.

It was the day when according to reports, the Holy Prophe appointed Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon them, as his caliph and the Imam after himself following an order from Allah, the Almighty.

Shias around the globe are decorating their houses, mosques and Shia Islamic Centers, and holding celebrations for the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Ghadir. 

Holy shrines in Iraq, Syria, and Iran in addition to mosques, Husseiniyahs, and Islamic centers in Islamic and non-Islamic countries are marking the accasion.
