Imam Ali Dome Gilding Project reaches advanced levels

Secretary-General’s Office of Imam Ali Holy Shrine has announced that the dome gilding project of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, has reached advanced stages.  

In a statement to the Media Center, Sayyid Muntathar al-Araji, the head of the office, said “Gilding the holy dome is one of the immense projects of the holy shrine,” noting that the project is divided into two parts: the first part is done by the investment company belonging to the Holy Shrine of al-Abbas, peace be upon him, and the second part is the upper half of the dome, which is being carried out by Muhjat al-Kawthar Company for Renovating the Holy Shrines in Iraq. 

Araji added that “9217 golden tiles were re-gilded. The holy dome of Imam Ali is one of the bigger domes in Iraq that is distinguished by its unique shape as well as its historic and moral importance.”

The head of the office concluded by mentioning that the completion rate of the entire project has passed 75%.
