The Chief Cleric of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, has supervised the ongoing work in the al-Aqeelah Courtyard Project, praising all the efforts put in by the skilled workers in order to flawlessly achieve what is considered to be one of the largest projects of the Holy Shrine.

During a meeting held in the project site with Sheikh al-Karbalaey, Engineer Abbas al-Bayati said, “We were able to solve several problems and overcome obstacles like avoiding the use of imported cement for promoting the use of the Iraqi industry. Initially, this was a drawback because the donating company of the project had brought Iranian-made cement. Fortunately, we are able to overcome this problem and we are continuing the work and progressing to advanced stages.”

“Lying on a 52,000-square-meter land, this project is immense. It contains administrative and service complexes as well as facilities to ease the flow of pilgrims during the massive pilgrimages,” added al-Bayati.
